"The Re Ruggero di Belpasso farm, in the province of Catania, was born in 2004 from a family passion. Located on the slopes of our beloved Etna, it boasts an area of ​​about 12 hectares of vineyards, olive groves, orange groves and it is also the production of vegetables From this passion comes the “Regalis”, a wine made from nerello - mascalese grapes grown in purity at about 700 meters above sea level, with an intense and refined taste. Another important product is "Ruggerolio", the Etna Nocellara extra virgin olive oil. This has led the company to want to create a sales point for the tasting of its products, where customers can find the true flavors of Sicily. "

The love for the Etna area prompted the owner of the farm and his staff to organize excursions on the volcano with tasting of typical Sicilian food and wine and agri-food products. Today, the "Re Ruggero" farm is a reference point for Etna tourism.

TERRITORY : The olive grove is located in Sicily, in the territory of the Municipality of Biancavilla, on the slopes of the Etna Volcano in the province of Catania
OLIVE GROVE : This is a plant located at an altitude of about 650 meters above sea level the soil is highly fertile and volcanic in nature, rich in minerals and natural nutrients. The trees are scattered, as is the orography of the volcanic soil, as is the case with the Etna area. The land is treated exclusively as permitted by the provisions on biological matters.
CULTIVAR : Etna Nocellar at 95% and 5% Moresca
HARVEST : From the second half of October to the first half of November
MILLING : The milling of the olives, performed on the same day as the harvest, is done cold; the olives are mechanically crushed and the oil obtained, by centrifugation at a temperature below 27 degrees centigrade, and a variable yield from 12 to 16%
STORAGE : The oil obtained is stored in steel containers, placed in an environment whose temperature is kept constant at 18 degrees centigrade, and after two / three months, once the suspended parts have settled, it is racked into containers (cans, bottles, etc) for final sale.
ORGANOLEPTIC ASPECTS : Very low acidity level, ranging from 0.20 to 0.30 (UM%)
